Season of the Force review at Disneyland Paris

For Star Wars fans the world over Disneyland Paris has a special treat for you…. Season of the Force! This Star Wars themed event runs from January to March 2017.

The promo ads run on British TV have given the impression that by visiting Disney Studios Park at the Disneyland Paris Resort you will be transported to a galaxy far far away. Media shows the #FaceTheForce as a way to share your experiences with the rest of the galaxy.

Disney have obviously invested a large amount of money in this, so far as we are told, one off event. The event consists of Stormtroopers walking around and interacting with guests, a First Order march led by Captain Phasma, Star Wars a Galaxy Far Far Away and the main event being a brand new projection show onto the Hollywood Tower of Terror Ride. Those that have seen Dreams show in the Disneyland Park will understand how impressive this should be.

The realities of the event were not too far from what was promised. The interactive Stormtroopers actually materialised as just two that would walk around Production Courtyard and pose for pictures with guests, all whilst keeping in character.

The March of the First order had around ten Stormtroopers who marched from the Backlot to the newly built stage in front of the Tower of Terror. Here they proceeded to be drilled by Captain Phasma. This was cool to see and certainly enjoyable.

Following the march was a short show called Star Wars: a Galaxy Far Far Away. This showcased many Star Wars characters including C3PO, R2D2, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma and Stormtroopers. I won’t go into details as I don’t want to spoil it for those still to attend but it was certainly enjoyable.

The final act, the brand new projection show was simply amazing. From the first chord of the iconic Star Wars theme to the final Lightsaber effect the show did not fail to disappoint.

Disney successfully brought together the old and new movies, giving a fitting tribute to the mega franchise and clearly pleasing the Star Wars fans in the vast crowd.
